Beloved Senior Members and Professional Colleagues

Wish you all a prosperous and peaceful New Year 2023, hope that you all had a wonderful Xmas and New Year Celebrations.

The month of December was very productive and filled with many activities at Ernakulam Branch.  We conducted a one-day programme on Peer Review, Code of Ethics, Engagement quality and documentation. Peer Review is mandatory for those firms who conduct statutory audit of listed companies as of now. It will be applicable to those practicing units with 5 or more partners from 01 April 2023,  practicing units with 4 or more partners from 01 April 2024 and  practicing units with 3 or more partners / undertaking audit of branches of public sector banks  from 01 April 2025. As per these requirements, it is quite evident that Peer Review would be a mandatory obligation for all firms within three   years. Hence, this is the right juncture to equip ourselves and get our firms peer reviewed before the specified date. We are planning to conduct a Peer Review Training programme organized by Peer Review Board (PRB) at the Ernakulam Branch on 12th January 2023. This programme will be useful for those members who wish to join as Peer Reviewer with PRB, ICAI as well as for those members who are planning to get their firms Peer Reviewed.
